Did the Morris Singer Company work with the White Star Line or Harland & Wolff in Belfast?

Post by Mirrorman »

Hello,
I was wondering if anyone here knew if the Morris Singer Company, aka the Morris Singer Foundry, collaborated with the White Star Line and/or Harland & Wolff in Belfast in the mid 20th century? I own a very good quality framed mirror (c. 1930's) with an engraved mermaid and seahorse design on it and which looks like it may have been made for a cruise ship. It has a label attached saying 'Morris Singer Co, Belfast Exhibition'.and i know that Morris Singer Co did produce work for the White Star Line in London. The company was represented in Belfast by C & J Douglas but I can't find any documentation referring to any appropriate public Belfast Exhibition in the 1920's - 1950's so this perhaps refers to a commercial exhibition? Any information or context would be welcome. Thank you.
